How do you define success?

Something that’s been heavy on my mind lately….

In a world that’s always shouting “do more,” “be more,” “change this, change that” or even better…”why do you change so much? Why can’t you just be happy” it’s easy to feel like success is something you’re constantly chasing — or worse, that you’re somehow failing if your life doesn’t look a certain way.

But here’s the truth: success isn’t one-size-fits-all. In fact, it’s deeply personal. And maybe it’s time we all slow down and ask — what does success really mean to me?

🌱

Two Truths About Success

Some people find joy in the comfort of consistency.

They love waking up in the same house, doing work they know well, and spending time in familiar rhythms. To them, peace, presence, and stability are the markers of a successful life.

And that’s beautiful.

Others feel most alive when they’re constantly evolving — changing careers, exploring new ideas, moving to new places, or reinventing themselves. For them, growth, risk, and reinvention are what success looks like.

And that’s beautiful too.

The magic is: both are valid. There’s nothing wrong with either.

Success is not about proving anything to the world — it’s about honoring what feels aligned and meaningful to you.

Reflection Questions to Redefine Success

If you’ve never taken the time to define success for yourself, now is a beautiful time to start. Try asking:

  • What does a “good day” look like for me?

  • What am I most proud of — and why?

  • Do I feel like I’m living, or just performing?

  • When do I feel most like myself?

  • If no one else was watching, what would I still choose?

You might be surprised at what comes up when you quiet the outside noise.

🌸

You Get to Choose

Success might mean building a business.

Or raising a family.

Or healing your body.

Or traveling the world.

Or creating something meaningful.

Or doing less, and feeling more.

There’s no gold star for following someone else’s version of success.

You get to choose what a successful life looks like for you — and that alone is powerful.

So, what does success mean to you?

Write it down. Say it out loud. Reclaim it.

Your version is enough
